Welcome to the Halton Elementary Occasional Teachers' Website!
We are a unionized organization that represents approximately 1160 employees of the Halton District School Board who are Short Term (Daily) Occasional Teachers or Long Term Occasional Teachers. Our members replace classroom teachers on a daily or long term basis whenever a teacher is absent.
We are one of 31 Occasional Teacher Locals in the Province of Ontario and belong to the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (E.T.F.O.) which represents over 73,000 teachers in Ontario.
As a Union group we protect the rights of our members, make sure the conditions of our Collective Agreement are in order and are being followed, offer Professional Development activities for our members, and provide our members with information and connection to the Provincial-wide organization.
