Donation for Relief in HAITI
Halton Elementary Occasional Teachers' Local made a $500 donation to help the relief in Haiti. We sent a cheque to Doctors Without Borders to enable them to continue their much needed medical work in Haiti.
This donation will be matched by ETFO Provincial and then will be again matched by the Federal government.
Annual Charity Donation:
HEOT makes an annual donation to a charity that deals with children. This year we are pleased to announce that our donation will be split between The Halton Learning Foundation and Halton Women's Place. We have sent both organizations a cheque for $200 with the hopes that this money will be put to good use to help Halton children.
Our Newsletter Editor is a Winner!!!
Congratulations to Cecile leach, our Newsletter Editor. She has won Newsletter Editor of the Year ( Multi-sheet category) from ETFO Provincial. Cecile has received a framed certificate from ETFO regonizing her accomplishment and will be recognized this summer at the ETFO Annual General Meeting in August and will have her award information printed in the fall version of Voice Magazine. Finally, the rest of the Province understands what we in Halton have known all along - our Newsletter is second to none!!!! We are so proud of our Newsletter and of Cecile.
