1. Wellness Survey by the Halton District School Board;
Members; I highly recommend to you that you follow the link listed below and participate in the Wellness Survey. It only takes about 5-10 minutes of your time but the results may create some positive changes for the rest of your career. The survey is completely confidential - no name is ever asked for or needed. Check out the link on CHATT in Occasional Elementary Talk and please take the time to fill in the survey.
The Halton District School Board’s Wellness Committee is encouraging all Staff to complete the Staff Wellness Survey beginning February 16 through to March 2, 2010.
This voluntary and completely anonymous web-based survey takes approximately 5 – 10 minutes to complete.
In an effort to raise awareness and promote a healthy workplace model, the purpose of this survey is to collect information and opinions from all staff groups of the school board.
Information concerning the organizational culture, health and lifestyle practices and occupational health and safety will allow the school board to develop programs which encourage a healthy work/life balance. This in turn will foster professional as well as personal wellness for all of our staff members.
Results of the 2009 survey assisted the Halton District School board in tailoring workshop offerings to meet staff needs. In addition, these survey results also helped secure funding for Workplace Wellness initiatives in Halton during the 2009/2010 school year.

2. Spring Annual Meeting and Dinner: Mark Thursday, May 20, 2010 on your calendar. Once again our dinner will be at the Oakville Banquet and Conference Centre at Bronte Road and the QEW. The registration forms are included in your mailing . Don't miss out on this scruptious dinner and very informative meeting. That evening we will also be presenting all of our awards.
3. School of Recognition Awards: The nomination forms came to you in your February mailing. make sure that you have the chance to honour those schools in which you feel we are welcome, and those schools that tend to honour our collective agreement. Nominate your favourite school and then come to the Spring Annual Meeting and celebrate with the winners at our dinner.
4. We're Off to the Races: Mark Thursday, June 10 on your calendar. We have reserved dinner at Mohawk Raceway. More information and reservation applications are in the Winter / Spring Newsletter sent to your home in February.
